Before we started on this garden it was an unused and overgrown space (see last photos in the slide show).
We transformed it into a beautiful functional garden with zoned spaces for all the family to enjoy.
For this garden makeover we constructed a new patio/terrace, with a new retaining wall, steps and a lower patio area to catch the evening sun. We completely re-turfed the rear garden, again edging it in steel to ease the maintenance. All the borders by the patio were planted using existing shrubs in the garden. The screen in front of the greenhouse is bespoke to this garden, providing a structure to grow plants, while screening the utility area of the garden. Our clients were stunned by the transformation, which has given them a fantastic space to entertain and admire the garden.
We have been using steel more and more in our gardens over the last few years. This fence is around two sides of a front garden in Dersingham.
It also includes a woven steel side gate, to match the fence. We think it gives a modern twist on the traditional woven willow fencing often seen around Norfolk, with the added bonus of not rotting away, you may have seen the aluminium woven fencing in our gallery, equally impressive as a fence or retaining wall.
For this garden, we created shapes into the rectangular lawn to add interest and edged it in steel for ease of maintenance. The lawn was then scarified and treated with weed and feed.
The patio was pressure washed and repointed. We finished off the garden by re-using as many existing plants as possible and supplemented them with new planting, to give colour and interest all year. Our client was over the moon with the end result. Sometimes it isn’t necessary to start from scratch, just creatively repurpose what you already have.
I started designing and landscaping this garden in Old Hunstanton way back in 2008. Since then we have designed and built the entire garden front and back. Built a steel framed, green roofed car port, re-purposed an existing summer house, refitting the inside and adding on a bespoke shed and greenhouse. Built a bespoke garden shelter and created a garden that is often included in the Old Hunstanton open gardens.
This time we have created a new seating area and moved the stunning copper tree water feature to its new position, closer to the house. We have also replaced the rotting oak retaining walls with new woven aluminium fencing, which we think looks stunning.
Our clients have given us the freedom to be creative in their garden and it is always a delight to carry out new projects for them.
For this garden, we worked with the client and their budget to create a space that was versatile for a young family but also a place for entertainment. (before photos first)

The resulted space included a patio area covered by a metal pergola which was provided by Norfolk Leisure. It has blinds on three sides and a louvered roof which can be closed to make it weatherproof. The area has been dressed to make it into an outdoor lounge, and the raised planters either side of pergola complete the look.

We also fitted a new summer house which doubles as a children's play space, and there is a dedicated BBQ area in the corner of the garden.
